Rugged, high data security solid state drives (SSDs)

SMART’s XceedSecure Solid State Drives (SSDs) are designed to meet the unique data security requirements of defense and security applications using SMART’s EraSure® data elimination feature. Available in 2.5-inch SATA and PATA interface variants and capacities ranging from 32GB to 256GB, these SSDs deliver a high-performance solution for a wide range of applications such as mission data recording and mapping.

EraSure includes two types of pre-defined data elimination protocols. Clear protocols provide rapid elimination of data from the drive in a single step. Sanitize protocols use government agency-defined steps to fully eliminate data from the drives. A customer-defined protocol is also available.

These SSDs easily replace standard 2.5-inch hard disk drives (HDDs), are available in Commercial (0°lC to 70°C) and Industrial (-40°C to 85°C) temperature ranges and easily withstand high shock and vibration environments as evidenced by thorough testing to Department of Defense, MIL-STD-810 standards.

High Transaction Processing SSDs

SMART’s rugged Xcel-10 family of SATA interface SSDs are designed to meet the needs of mission-critical applications where high small and/or large block performance and durability are key requirements. One can think of these drives as combining Enterprise Class performance within a highly rugged platform. With an industrial temperature rating of -40°C to 85°C and shock and vibration tolerances tested to MIL-STD-810 standards, these drives are ideal for high transaction applications in the battlefield.

TheXcel-10 drive also supports Normal and Enhanced Security Erase modes as defined by the ATA-7 Specification for applications where data security is important.

SCSI interface SSDs

SMART's 3.5-inch form factor SCSI interface SSDs are available in 50 pin, 68 pin and 80 pin variants and capacities ranging from 1GB to 128GB. These drives are specifically suited for applications where users or OEMs want to replace a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or where the SCSI interface is integral to the system design.

A new addition to the SCSI product family includes EraSure data elimination techniques which provides the many levels of data elimination described in the XceedSecure product description on this page.

Designed for rugged duty operation, these SCSI drives perform well in applications where sever conditions of extended temperature, high shock and vibration, and rapid temperature gradients are commonplace.

Small size, ultra-low power SSDs

Drawing less than 1 Watt in most cases, SMART’s XceedLite SSDs are ideal for size and power constrained applications such as tablet PCs, ruggedized notebooks and laptops, where battery life, durability and reliability are critical. Key features include:

• 1.8in form factor: PATA interface versions are available in capacities ranging from 4GB to 32GB. SATA interface versions are available in capacities ranging from 4GB to 64GB.
• 2.5-inch Form Factor: SATA and PATA interface versions are available in capacities ranging from 4GB to 64GB

Low Power, high performance SSDs

Available in capacities ranging from 8GB to 64GB, these SATA interface SSDs deliver industry-leading sustained read/write performance while requiring less than 2 W active power for all densities. Low power requirements make the XceedUltra SSD well suited for replacing power-hungry hard disk drives, while reducing the need for cooling.
