M-Systems Releases Fastest Flash Disk in the Industry - FFD 2.5in Ultra ATA with 100MBytes/sec Burst Read/Write Rates

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 2004 - The FFD(TM) 2.5-inch Ultra ATA Is Available Now Up to 90GBytes with Sustained Read/Write Rates of 40Mbytes/sec
M-Systems (Nasdaq:FLSH) released today a new solid-state flash disk with Ultra ATA interface in a 2.5in disk casing up to 90GBytes.
The FFD 2.5in Ultra ATA is an ATA-6 flash disk with an interface speed of 100MB/s, supporting Ultra DMA 5 transfer mode. The Ultra ATA complies with the MIL-STD 810F and NEBS level-3 standards and is capable of operating at high altitudes, through extreme shocks and vibrations and at high temperatures common in industrial applications.
Designed to provide top data integrity for such applications as military, aerospace, telecommunication and video servers, the Ultra ATA incorporates M-Systems' TrueFFS(R) flash management system, wear leveling and bad-block managements with endurance of 5,000,000 write/erase cycles. To support data security requirements, the FFD 2.5-inch Ultra ATA incorporates fast security erase and sanitize (purge) features complying with security guidance from the Department of Defense (DoD 5220.22-M), National Security Agency (NSA 130-2), U.S. Air Force (AFSSI 5020), U.S. Army (380-19) and the U.S. Navy (Navso 5239).
