Defence and security companies Saab and Systematic have signed a broad co-operation agreement, establishing the foundation for the most cost-effective use of each other’s products and capabilities within the command and control market segment.

Saab provides world-leading solutions for situation awareness, decision support, efficient operation and training. Focusing on systems integration, Saab combines existing systems with its own products and those of partner companies.

Systematic has over 25 years of experience of successfully delivering highly advanced, standardised and interoperable off-the-shelf command and control and battle management products.

This collaboration means that Saab and Systematic now have easy access to each other’s strengths and products, which can be efficiently integrated to meet the needs of customers and integration partners.

“Working together is a fantastic opportunity for both companies,” said Michael Holm, president and CEO of Systematic. “We at Systematic are looking forward to sharing our complimentary technologies and know-how so that we can offer customers fully-combined products and integrated systems.”

Saab and Systematic will combine their capabilities to respond to customer needs and market opportunities, as well as pursuing business ventures as value-added resellers of each other’s products.

“By combining our complementary offers, market channels and integration capabilities we have taken an important step together to strengthen the Nordic industry competitiveness,” said Gunilla Fransson, head of business area security and defence solutions, Saab.

The coming together of Saab and Systematic will further demonstrate the benefits that highly-developed off-the-shelf software products can bring when integrated into defence systems.
