Renowned Israeli defense manufacturer Rafael supplies a wide range of systems, products and technologies that provide tactically proven solutions to the dynamic challenges posed on the modern battlefield. RAFAEL's vast experience and close relationship with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) enable it to supply its customers with lethal, highly effective, state-of-the-art defense solutions. Air defense systems With Rafael's advanced, cost-effective air defense technologies, existing in-service systems can be adapted to meet the demands of modern surface-to-air engagements. Rafael offers effective point defense systems for naval and land applications, short range air defence (SHORAD) and very short range air defense (VSHORAD) systems, as well as sensors such as passive acoustic detection systems, which enable early warning and location of hostile aircraft. Vehicle add-on reactive and passive armour kitsRafael develops, designs, manufactures, provides and installs add-on reactive and passive armor kits for a wide variety of vehicles including MBTs, APCs and light vehicles. The ASPRO-P (passive armor) system provides enhanced protection against projectiles and artillery fragments, while the reactive armor system provides protection against anti-tank shaped-charge warheads. Rafael's ASPRO-R (reactive armor) on the US Bradley fighting vehicles currently plays a central role in protecting US soldiers in Iraq. The ASPRO-H (hybrid) version of this armor system has been adapted to light armored wheeled and tracked vehicles, including M113 APC, LAV III, Stryker, CV90 and the FV432. This system is modular and combines reactive and passive elements to defeat both advanced SC threats and KE projectiles and high speed 155 mm artillery fragments. Multi-purpose light armoured vehicles (LAVs)Rafael has also developed a line of multi-purpose light armored vehicles (LAV), such as the Golan and Wolf, which provide outstanding protection for troops on the move. Aerial battlefield command and control systems Supporting the land combat arena, Rafael's command and control systems provide critical backup in the form of effective air-to-air communication control, tactical missiles fire control, and airborne command and control. Advanced technological infrastructure based on architecture software packages like geotactics, data fusion, and data distribution enhances management of the aerial battlefield. Rafael's C4I applications include:
Complete lightweight APC upgrading kits Rafael is unsurpassed in meeting the challenges of upgrading vehicles, providing customers with complete, lightweight APC upgrading kits (each weighing less than 2,000 kg). Upgrading kits include armor, fire power, mobility and floatation, retrofitting of APCs into air-defense mobile system, and turning scout vehicles into anti-tank missile platforms. Infantry weapons Rafael have developed a wide range of infantry weapons and combat support systems including anti-tank missiles, ballistic shields, demolition charges, wall and door-busting systems, modular ladders, and sniper detectors. Multi-purpose guided missiles Rafael's anti-armor division develops, manufactures and markets advanced guided missile systems for use on the modern battlefield, whether it's an open area or confined urban space. In addition to providing exceptional defence systems to the Israel Defence Forces, it has cooperated with major defence industries to extend its operational boundaries worldwide. Rafael's Spike family of missiles is in full production and is being continually upgraded to maintain its superiority in the international defence arena. Military field training and simulation systemsDevelopment of simulation training technology provides modern ground forces with the ability to cope with the tactical, operational and strategic demands of the battlefield by improving decision-making and tactical abilities of commanders and their staff. Rafael currently conducts fixed-base and mobile simulation exercises for the Israel Defense Forces using the ABS-2010 system. The TIES-2010 Army Battle Simulation system supports field training with live forces, while SECS-2010 is a computerized Skelton exercise controlling system. Rafael produce vehicle protective systems for fighting vehicle including armour kits battlefield command solutions and military field training products. These are designed to utilise battlefield control through infantry weapons> |
