SIE Computing Solutions, Inc. Introduces 720 Series Liquid Cooled ATR Enclosures

09 September 2009

SIE Computing Solutions, Inc., an innovative leader in the design and manufacture of open architecture based computing platforms and system packaging for rugged environments, has added the new 720 Series Liquid Cooled Air Transport Rack (ATR) to its comprehensive 700 Series family of rugged ATR enclosures. The 720 ATR is configurable for a variety of liquids, including polyalphaolefin (PAO) and ethylene glycol/water mixture (EGW).

The 720 Series meets the cooling requirements of today’s high thermal load systems, such as those based on VPX technology that conduction and convection cooling alone cannot satisfy. A line-replaceable unit (LRU), the 720 Series features avionic approved field changeable/replaceable components and low MTTR (Minimum Time to Replace). The cooling side panels can be configured for either front or rear coupler access. When combined with a mating liquid avionics tray (fixed or isolation mount), the 720 Series ATR can be installed onto the tray with a precision “blind-mate” drip-less connection.

SIE Computing Solution’s 700 Series family of ATR enclosures are engineered for maximum flexibility, feature light weight durable construction and an array of cooling options for a range of harsh environment applications. Satisfying a variety of thermal challenges, the enclosures can be engineered with convection (714 Series), re-circulating air (715 Series), conduction (716 Series), air-over conduction (717 Series), and now liquid cooling (720 Series).
