The defence industry generally sets the standard for tough devices of all kinds. Military standards are used to rate the ruggedness of handheld computers.
Durable computers that can withstand shock, temperature changes and vibration are of key significance in the military field. Army hardware has to be as reliable in bright sunlight and summer heat as it is in heavy rain or extremely cold weather. The importance of long battery life is also obvious as recharging is not always possible.
Handheld´s products are designed and built ruggedized from the inside and out, and are extremely reliable. The product range includes the Nautiz X7, and Nomad PDAs, as well as the Algiz and the Yuma tablet PCs. These are all designed to handle tough environments and are therefore ideal for the army sector.
As a true outdoor PDA, the Nautiz X7 is built to military specifications and meets the MIL-STD-810G military standard for drops, vibration, humidity, altitude and extreme temperatures. In addition to integrated GPS, E-compass, altimeter and G-sensor, the Nautiz X7 also has a 3Mpx camera with autofocus and LED flash. Nautiz X7 features Bluetooth and WLAN as well as 3G capability for GSM/UMTS phone and data transmission.
