ARMOURED VEHICLE SPALL LINERS

TenCate Advanced Armour provides spall liner solutions for use in a wide variety of vehicles. The spall liner, which is mounted on the inside of the vehicle, is designed to stop small-arms projectiles as well as small fragments.

A spall liner protection only adds a minimum of weight to the vehicle and thus has hardly any effect on manoeuvrability, payload or radius of action. This equipment can be tailored to fit particular vehicles and vehicle types, thus making it easy and straightforward for vehicle manufacturers to install this protection solution.

TenCate Advanced Armour spall-liners are made of high performance polyethylene (Dyneema) and rubberised aramid. TenCate Advanced Armour spall-liners are usually tested and certified according to NATO STANAG 2920. The spall-liners effectively reduce the cone of fragments if the vehicle is penetrated by kinetic energy projectiles, such as APDS projectiles, or the explosive jet from shaped charges, such as RPG 7.

ARMOURED VEHICLE ADD-ON ARMOUR

TenCate Advanced Armour lightweight add-on armour is customised and designed to stop a specified threat with minimum weight increase. We are working with protection levels according to NATO STANAG 4569 up to level 5, but also with specific customer requirements.

Apart from the ability to protect against projectiles fired from the specific types of weapon, add-on armour is capable of withstanding the many different kinds of impacts that result from ordinary vehicle operations, including vibration and shock. This protective armour is also resistant to UV light, ordinary chemicals and decontaminating agents. In addition, it features a high multi-hit capability that provides a crew with outstanding degree of protection if the vehicle is hit by multiple projectiles or fragments.

Our rubberised add-on armour technology has a wide variety of options to meet customer requirements for both permanent mounting as well as protection kits that can quickly be added and removed by the user if required. Our clients include Mowag, Krauss–Maffei Wegmann, and the Danish Army.

SOFT SKIN VEHICLE ARMOUR

TenCate Advanced Armour offers customised armour solutions for the protection of soft skin vehicles such as 4x4s and trucks against improvised explosive devices, fragmentation mines and small arms ammunition.

Our solutions are ultra-lightweight and protection against 7.62mm projectiles can be achieved with less than 16kg/m² of protection materials. The protection solutions are designed in such a way that the driving performance of the vehicle is only slightly, if at all, influenced by the protection solution.

Our protection solutions can be tailored to meet the user requirement for both permanent installation as well as protection kits, which can be added and removed quickly.

OPTRONICS AND WEAPON ARMOUR

TenCate Advanced Armour offers tailored armour solutions for the protection of optronics, weapon stations and other vital equipment on vehicles. The protection solution can be designed according to the user requirement. However, the solutions are often designed to defeat artillery fragments and sniper fire such as 7.62mm armour piercing.

BALLISTIC INSERTS FOR BULLET PROOF VESTS

TenCate Advanced Armour insert plates are lightweight composite upgrades and cover a broad span of operational requirements. They are designed and developed to increase protection in bullet proof and fragmentation vests.The plates are available in a wide range of shapes, from flat to complex ergonomic designs that fit the vest perfectly. This helps ensure maximum comfort for the user. Because they also weigh very little, this results in greater user endurance during operations.

Customised inserts and different finishes, such as textiles or ABS shell, are available, so that protection vests can be tailored to the need of specific customers and users.

BALLISTIC SHIELDS

TenCate Advanced Armour shields are produced in lightweight materials and cover a wide span of operational requirements of today's police and security forces worldwide.

The ballistic shields are designed to provide best possible protection for personnel. They are equipped with a carrying system allowing the weight of the shield to rest on both shoulders and can be dismounted in seconds by the operator alone. In addition, the two handles enable the balance of the shield to be easily controlled.

FABRICS FOR BALLISTIC PROTECTION

TenCate Advanced Armour offers high-performance fabrics, pre-impregnated fabrics and coated fabrics used to protect personnel against multiple threats.

TenCate Advanced Armour has more than two decades of hands-on experience with weaving high-performance fabrics.
