MTL Invests in UK’s Largest Bevel Laser Cutting System

MTL Group has invested in the largest bevel laser cutting system in the UK with the aim of attracting major contracts from leading global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the defence, rail, recycling, shipbuilding and related industries. This system has a cutting area of 20m by 3.2m and is capable of cutting materials up to 25mm thick.
Henry Shirman, managing director of MTL, said this investment was one of several new purchases designed to "set the company out as a market leader in the industry. Our wide range of industry leading laser machines means MTL is capable of handling all sizes and types of job, from carbon steels to aluminium, working 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
"The new Messer is the largest laser machine in the UK, capable of cutting both chamfers and weld preps of up to +/-50°, improving efficiency and productivity - reducing costs and lead times for our customers."
