DEW - Vehicle Armor and Survivability SystemsDEW Engineering and Development (Canada) and DEW Industries (New York, US) have been supplying advanced composite armor systems to militaries around the world since 1994. DEW armor systems successfully meet or exceed the highest NATO protection and test standards and are made to exacting ISO 9001:2000 quality standards. Our advanced composite armors provide improved performance and tremendous weight savings over steel / aluminum solutions. This reduced weight translates directly into increased vehicle payload and / or reduced vehicle life cycle costs. DEW has the capacity to solve the challenges of armoring your vehicles with our experienced team of armor engineers, military vehicle specialists and production personnel. DEW's extensive experience in protecting against ballistic, mine-blast, and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) threats allows us to offer innovative solutions, with a clear edge in performance. ARMORED VEHICLE ONE-STOP SHOPPINGWe can provide field service support and assist your technical staff in developing prototypes / first off vehicles. With armor production lines across North America, we have the capacity and advanced production techniques to provide large-scale production of either a DEW armor technology or on a 'build-to-print' basis if your challenge is in providing sufficient capacity to meet the high demand for armored vehicles. All facilities comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Controlled Goods Program, as appropriate. Our customers are further supported with complete training packages of videos, manuals (including interactive electronic manuals and web-based support), spares and full in-service support. DEW ARMOR TECHNOLOGIESDEW's success is based on our commitment to our customers. Since 1994, our armor has been protecting American, Canadian and New Zealand forces. DEW has designed, tested, manufactured and installed thousands of armor systems that have protected soldiers in theatres such as the former Yugoslavia, Africa, Afghanistan and Iraq. DEW is the armor supplier for the US Stryker program and is currently providing armor for the MRAP RG-31. WHEELED TACTICAL VEHICLESDEW's latest ceramic composite armor for wheeled tactical vehicles has successfully passed STANAG and AEP 55 to Level IV. It is in the final stages of testing to the new US Army Long-Term Armor Strategy (LTAS) requirements and has successfully passed all LTAS tests conducted to date. DEW armor is installed on the following fleets of vehicles: Kenworth PLS vehicles; Light Support Vehicle Wheeled – Iveco 40.10WMs (Western Star); Medium Logistics Vehicle Wheeled – US Military Pattern M35s; and Heavy Logistics Vehicle Wheeled – Steyr 10T. Armor solutions are also available now for the Oshkosh MTVR and AM General HMMWV. ARMOR FOR LIGHT ARMORED VEHICLESDEW advanced ceramic composite armor systems provide the best possible protection against Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and high-caliber threats. Our technology is scalable and can be tailored to customer requirements. DEW Ceramic composite armor is in service now with the US Army's Stryker, Canadian LAV III, Bison, and Coyote fleets, M113 and MTVL fleets, and New Zealand LAV IIIs. IN-HOUSE BALLISTIC RANGE AND R&D PROGRAMSIn order to supply armor meeting the new protection standards specified in the US Army's LTAS, the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle programs, and Joint Logistics Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), DEW maintains a multi-year, self-funded R&D program, allowing us to develop and test new armor technologies. DEW can provide a complete range of testing and certification of our armor systems, including ballistic, mine-blast, and IED testing. Our on-site test range is able to test up to 25mm ammunition and is staffed by experienced weapons technicians. DEW has established relationships with commercial explosive test facilities and government / military facilities for the testing of mine-blast and IED protection systems, and can perform testing to the most stringent NATO or US standards.
