Nitrochemie, Aschau/Germany, a subsidiary of Ratingen based Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH, and Denel, South Africa, have signed a strategic agreement to combine their resources for future development of improved modular charge systems for 105mm and 155mm artillery weapon systems.
Both, Denel with their business unit Denel Land Systems, Western Cape, and Nitrochemie are leading companies in the field of modular charges. To provide improved solutions for the customers the allies decided to bring together their technologies and resources in the development and production of future products.
The major benefits will be cost reduction for the development of new products as well as improvements in product performance. This will generate significant advantages to the customers, as we will be able to offer products with an excellent performance/price ratio.
The first new product is expected to be ready for qualification in 2006.
All existing products of both companies will remain available on request.
