Textron Marine & Land Systems specializes in the design, production and support of advanced marine craft, armored combat vehicles, turrets and related subsystems. Through its MillenWorks strategic business, Textron Marine & Land Systems designs and develops advanced mobility solutions for demanding on and off-road applications. Textron Marine & Land Systems, an operating unit of Textron Systems, serves military and commercial customers domestically and internationally.
The Textron Marine & Land Systems armored security vehicle (ASV) is a 4X4 wheeled, V-hulled armored vehicle that offers significant crew protection through the employment of multiple layers of armor and appliqué, defending against small-arms fire, artillery projectile fragments, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and land mines.
The ASV possesses superior mobility, agility, handling and ride quality through the utilization of a four-wheel independent suspension system, and has consistently exceeded US Army combat availability and operational readiness goals. The ASV standard armament is the Cadillac-Gage Textron 40/50 turret, but can also accommodate remote weapon systems or gunner’s protection kits.
The ASV family of vehicles performs a wide variety of missions including scout, infantry personnel carrier, reconnaissance, command and control and recovery. US army M1117 ASV missions include the full spectrum of operations with the military police and infantry, including scout, convoy protection, perimeter security, as well as field artillery combat observation and lasing teams (COLT) with the M1200 Armored Knight ASV configuration. In addition to the US army, Textron Marine & Land Systems has provided ASV variants to Iraq, Colombia and Bulgaria.
The US Army developed the M1200 Armored Knight to provide improved survivability over the M707 Knight. Used by US army field artillery combat observation lasing teams (COLTs) in both heavy and infantry brigade combat teams, the Armored Knight combines the proven ASV with the M707 Knight Mission equipment package (MEP).
The ASV armored personnel carrier (APC) is stretched 24in between the wheel base, provides for two crew members, up to eight dismounts and one additional gunner. The head room and volume of the vehicle has been increased by adding a six-inch extension over the base roof line. Seating arrangement and armor protection levels are varied to customer specification.
The ASV reconnaissance, surveillance and target acquisition (RSTA) is designed for a crew of three (driver, commander, target operator / RWS) plus three soldiers. It is equipped with a DRS Technologies harmonized stabilized turret, which integrates the Raytheon LRAS3 advanced thermal sight with integrated laser rangefinder that provides reconnaissance, surveillance and target location outside threat acquisition engagement ranges, and the Kongsberg CROWS remote weapon system (RWS).
The Mobile Survivable Vehicle (MSV) is a new platform that incorporates numerous design and survivability upgrades. Enhanced exterior armor and interior appliqué, multi-hit, mine-blast-protected seats, along with strategic design improvements provide a significant increase in crew survivability. Wheel wells are vented and strengthened, ground clearance increased by 44 percent, and a wider wheel base incorporated for additional blast resistance.
Textron Marine & Land Systems have teamed with Granite Tactical Vehicles to offer the Small Combat Tactical Vehicle Capsule (SCTVC), an MRAP-style fully armored monocoque V-hull crew capsule designed to replace the crew compartment of the HMMWV in a one-for-one exchange. The SCTVC is a lightweight, highly protected system that is compatible with all versions of HMMWVs currently in service.
Textron Marine & Land Systems has delivered performance in high-quality design and manufacturing in the New Orleans area for more than 40 years. The highly experienced workforce utilizes a systematic, disciplined manufacturing philosophy for fabrication of specialty marine and armored vehicle structures, as well as integration of critical systems and subsystems.

Textron Marine & Land’s M1117 armored security vehicle (ASV) is a rugged, agile and survivable 4x4 armored vehicle. Operationally proven, ASV is mission-essential equipment for in-theater combat and patrols.
Based on the battle-proven M1117, the ASV APC adds 60 centimeters crew compartment length, seating eight passengers and two crewmembers while retaining exceptional mobility and survivability. Customer-driven configurations are available.
The mobile survivable vehicle’s enhanced ballistic and blast protection and strategic areas designed to separate during a mine event, provide significant increases in crew protection. Mine-blast-protected seats increase crew survivability.
