RUAG Receives Award from Northrop Grumman

19 June 2009

RUAG Aerospace has received two more important awards for 2008. US aircraft manufacturer Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems presented its Supplier of the Year award and Platinum Source Preferred award to the company in Los Angeles for its aircraft maintenance services and aircraft component production respectively.

Dr Peter Guggenbach, CEO of RUAG Aerospace, and Dr Viktor Haefeli, CEO of RUAG Technology, were both delighted by the new awards. "These awards are recognition of our high-quality work. We will continue to use this quality to win over customers in the international aerospace markets," they said.

RUAG was chosen to receive the Supplier of the Year 2008 award for the reliable and timely way it maintained and delivered the F-5 Tiger jets and spare parts the Swiss air force sold to the US navy. RUAG was assisted in this project by the air force, the armed forces logistics unit and Armasuisse.

2008 became the third year in succession that RUAG Aerospace received Northrop Grumman's Platinum Source Preferred award for producing structures and components for the F/A-18 Hornet and F-5 Tiger. The award is presented every year to suppliers and partners who excel in terms of quality, delivery reliability and service. RUAG was the only non-US company to receive an award in 2008.
