KADDB - Military Vehicle Design and Development

The King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) is an independent government / military body within the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF). KADDB serves the MENA region, and the rest of the world, in the design and development of defence solutions.

DEFENCE TRADING FUND

The KADDB was established by a Royal Decree on the 24th of August 1999 to provide the indigenous capability for the supply of independent, high quality, scientific and technical services to the JAF.

KADDB operates as a trading fund, implementing the best commercial practices to meet predetermined performance targets. It is financed through both the defence vote and by income generated from the sale of technology, products and services.

MENA REGION MILITARY VEHICLE DESIGN

KADDB focuses on the design and manufacture of defence and commercial products and solutions for both JAF and the civilian and military export markets.

KADDB strives to harness science and technology towards the objective of fulfilling Jordan's defence needs, and in the process assist the nation in creating a sustainable industrial base.

KADDB aims to maintain and advance its technical competence and expert knowledge of research and technology development worldwide, to meet the needs of its customers.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

The scope of work conducted by KADDB covers the full spectrum of research design and development. This ranges from user requirement definition and threat analysis, through to concept design and development, to the identification and acquisition of enabling technologies. The process follows stages of prototyping, trials and evaluation, product optimisation, and finally, industrialisation through to the preparation of manufacturing data packs.

KADDB AS A COMMERCIAL BODY

KADDB has formed over 20 joint venture companies with strategic partners from the United States of America, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Russia, Poland and the United Arab Emirates.

KADDB's long-term goal is to develop a home-grown and self-sufficient research and development facility, with commercial viability. In order to achieve this, KADDB acts as a catalyst for the creation of successful industries, and in the process has become the technology partner of choice for the MENA region and international markets.
