FNSS - Armored Combat Vehicles

FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.S. is a leading manufacturer and supplier of both tracked and wheeled armored combat vehicles and weapon systems for the Turkish Armed Forces and Allied Armed Forces. FNSS is a Turkish based joint venture company between Nurol Group of Turkey and the BAE Systems.

ARMORED COMBAT VEHICLES

As a private company FNSS continues the customer service which gained its excellent reputation for affordable, medium weight, high quality armored combat vehicles. Its extensive product line consists of a universal family of tracked armored combat vehicles and combat utility vehicles of the Turkish Land Forces.

FNSS has developed a full range of family of vehicles, the basic building block is the Advanced Armoured Personnel Carrier fitted with either 300hp or 350hp Detroit Diesel 6V53T engine coupled to an Allison X200-4 cross drive transmission. The vehicles are protected against 14.5mm AP projectiles by a unique steel laminated add-on armor kit.

The company has the capability to meet the specific configurations’ requirements of its customers by incorporating advanced armour packages other powerpack or systems tailored to meet their operational requirements.

Besides manufacturing new vehicles, FNSS is also capable of upgrading and modernising aged M113 family of vehicles.

Vehicles manufactured by FNSS were used for thousands of kilometers under battle conditions by Turkish Contingencies serving with the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Somalia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, and has received admiration of the Turkish Soldier.

R&D PROJECTS, WEAPONS SYSTEMS AND PROTOTYPE VEHICLES

Other than vehicle manufacturing activities, FNSS carries out successful studies on different types of vehicles and weapon systems by means of the R&D Department it has set up. This capability was proved with several development projects and prototype vehicles.

SHARPSHOOTER - LIGHTWEIGHT ONE-MAN TURRET

FNSS has co-developed with BAE Systems a One-Man (Sharpshooter) turret, which is, fitted with a 25mm Bushmaster cannon and a co-axially mounted 7.62mm MG.

The Sharpshooter turret was developed to extend the life of in-service armoured vehicles and/or new vehicles, by providing a lightweight modern turret with increased firepower and minimum obstruction into the crew space.

ACV-S

FNSS recently completed the development of its new armored combat vehicle family called 'ACV-S'.

PARS WHEELED ARMORED VEHICLES

On the other hand, development of the new wheeled armored vehicle family called 'PARS' continues. PARS family is a modular vehicle system having configurations from 4x4 to 10x10.

INTEGRATED LOGISTICS SUPPORT

In addition to vehicle sales, FNSS realizes sales of spare parts, kits, subsystems and logistics packages such as repair and maintenance support, field support.

In this context, the company signed a long term contract with Belgium Army to provide logistics and technical support to their existing M113 and AIFV type vehicles.

FNSS also exported parts and subsystems to the countries such as Canada, USA, Chile, Australia, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan and continues sales to NAMSA (NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency).

TRAINING AND IETM

Besides vehicle production, FNSS also provides its customers with services such as all kinds of user training including 5th echelon maintenance training. The company has also developed an Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) called 'Logistics Master' for ACV’s.
