Will-Burt Receives Exporter of the Year Award

Orrville, Ohio: June 25, 2004 – The Mast Division of The Will-Burt Company, a manufacturer and global distributor of mechanical, pneumatic and manual telescoping masts and Night Scan™ light towers for international markets is the recipient of the 2004 Exporter of Year Award. Will-Burt received the award from Governor Bob Taft at the Ohio Statehouse on June 24, 2004.
"I salute The Will-Burt Company for their excellence in exporting and commitment to international trade," said Ohio Governor Bob Taft. "The Exporter of the Year award represents the best of the many Ohio companies expanding the market for Ohio goods abroad," said Taft.
Will-Burt exports masts and lighting to virtually every continent with over 20% of annual sales exported. This is accomplished through an extensive distribution and support network successfully negotiating contracts and programs with international governments, militaries, emergency services, cellular integrators, broadcast and telecom venues to provide mast and lighting products world wide.
"The dedication of Will-Burt employees, from sales to production and support, are what makes the mast business successful," stated Steve Matthew, President of the Mast Division. "Our employees spend countless hours traveling to serve customers whether it’s doing sales training, attending trade shows or servicing product."
As early as 1965 Will-Burt recognized the importance of exporting. Former Will-Burt Company president William Baer attended a trade mission to Europe with then Governor James Rhodes. Throughout the years, Will-Burt’s broad line of mast and lighting products, product development, international marketing and sales commitment and employee dedication have been the key elements of successful international expansion.
