JUNGHANS Feinwerktechnik GmbH & Co. KG is one of the leading developers and manufactures of mechanical, optronic and electronic fuzes and safety and arming devices for the armed forces worldwide. The traditional Black Forest-based clock company Junghans was founded in 1861 by Erhard Junghans. In the year 1905 the know-how of precision mechanics for clocks and watches was applied to develop and produce fuzes and fuze systems. The first mechanical time fuze came on the market. In the mid eighties, incorporating modern electronic technologies, another industrial branch of Junghans was established and referred to as "Feinwerktechnik". AMMUNITION FUZESA close cooperation with German and international customers forms the basis for development and production of customer-tailored products. The comprehensive fuze program covers a wide range of ammunition
DIGITAL FUZESThe Multi Option Fuzes for Artillery (MOFA) DM74 and DM84 as well as the Electronic Time Fuzes DM52A1 and DM52A2 represent the latest generation in fuze know-how. These fuzes have been designed to utilise the principle of digitisation, inductive programming by direct communication with automatic fire control loading systems of all modern howitzers. Several hundreds of thousands of Junghans MOFA and electronic artillery fuzes have been delivered to the German Army and to other NATO-partners. MOFA DM84The DM84 is a flick-ramming safe multi option fuze for use with 39cal and 52cal weapons and has been developed for deployment with high explosive, cargo, smoke and illumination ammunition. In addition, this fuze is also qualified for 120mm rifled mortars. The DM84 derives from the proven and successful DM74. The main reason for introducing the DM84 was to improve capability and usability. A new battery has been integrated which is activated at firing and is able to detect the different acceleration impulses between a 1.5m drop test and the acceleration forces during projectile firing. Safety is guaranteed by the qualified SAU DM62 from the MOFA DM74, which is in service in Germany, Canada, Denmark and Norway. Arming is initiated by translational and rotational forces after firing. The rotor moves in-line after the muzzle safety distance has elapsed. The DM84 complies with MIL-STD1316D, MIL-STD 331B, STANAG 4369. The guaranteed shelf life is a minimum of 10 years. ARTILLERY FUZE PD544The PD544 is a mechanical point detonating fuze with SuperQuick and delay functions for the use on 76mm to 203mm calibre HE-projectiles. Technical features:
