Rheinmetall Waffe Munition Arges - HE Hand Grenades and 40mm Low Velocity Grenades

Rheinmetall Waffe Munition Arges (RWM Arges) of Austria is a recognised manufacturer and supplier of NATO-qualified high explosive, training and pyrotechnic hand grenades as well as 40mm LV grenades.

RWM Arges can look back on a very long tradition in manufacturing hand grenades and components and is the leading company for producing cost-effective hand grenades with pre-formed fragments.

RWM ARGES HE HAND GRENADES

Containing pre-formed fragments, the defensive HE hand grenades produce excellent fragment distribution coupled with high fragment density. Specially designed for Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT), all our defensive hand grenades are also available in an offensive version, i.e. without steel fragments.

The RWM Arges hand grenades product range includes:

• SplHG 86 – hand grenades with limited fragment density for use in MOUT
• SplHG 85 – standard hand grenade with medium fragmentation
• SplHG 90 – high-performance hand grenade with big fragmentation

These three main types have been manufactured in many variations/designations for different customers. The delay time can be adjusted to special customer request from 1.5sec to 7.0sec.

RWM ARGES PRACTICE HAND GRENADES

For training purposes RWM Arges offers a reusable body with a pyrotechnic training fuse for all grenade types, which generates a sound level of approx. 113dBA.

Components for hand grenades: different pyrotechnical delay tubes and pyrotechnical delay tubes with detonator for application in different hand grenade types. The delay time can be adjusted at special customer request from 1.5sec to 7.0sec.

RWM ARGES FAMILY OF 40mm LV GRENADES

The RWM Arges family of 40mm low velocity grenades are designed to fulfill the requirements of combat. The product range includes:

• 40mm x 46 HE-FRAG92 - fragmentation grenade
• 40mm x 46 HE-DP - fragmentation grenade with additional hollow charge effect

RWM ARGES ADAPTER SYSTEM

The adapter system was developed to combine the Steyr Assault Rifle with the AG36 grenade launcher from Heckler & Koch which forms a universal weapon system. In order to be able to rapidly restore the Steyr AR to the original condition for special tasks (e.g. house-to-house fighting) and to reduce the system weight and increase the mobility for this purpose, the adapter system is equipped with a special locking allowing the rapid dismantling and mounting of the AG36 grenade launcher without using any tool.
