AidEx 2015

The FAUN Trackway team recently exhibited at AidEx, the leading event for the international aid and development sector, which took place in Brussels on 18 and 19 November.

FAUN Trackway’s impressive array of aviation and roadway solutions were showcased to visitors from across the international community, including key representatives in the oil and gas, military and disaster relief sectors from across Africa and Central Europe.

Products that stirred particular interest included the C40 Roadway, the Helicopter Landing Mat (HLM) and the Heavy Ground Mobility System (HGMS). All three can be used for disaster relief purposes, and proved very popular with delegates.

The C40 Roadway is a modular system for use in difficult environments, which can be quickly deployed and recovered, either manually or using a mechanical loader. It has recently completed product testing with great success on a variety of different terrains in Anglesey, where the FAUN Trackway team is headquartered.

HLM is an expedient runway, which can be supplied in kit form – a ‘helipad in a box’ – developed for the UK Royal Engineers to create a temporary landing area on rough terrains. The versatile product can be used with a variety of FAUN Trackway’s aluminium panels and laid in less than 24 hours by an experienced team.

Now in its fifth year, and celebrating the European Year of Development, AidEx proved the perfect venue for FAUN to promote its innovative products, which offer versatile transportation solutions in difficult military and humanitarian situations.
